This was a personal project. AIGA Toledo and The Arts Commission put out a call for area artists to submit work to align with the theme, The Chemistry of Toledo, and beautify the empty windows of abandoned spaces.

I chose to combine the elements of Toledo that I believe shine through: the amazing parks and recreation opportunities, the marina, and the city coming back to life from an economic downturn and that it was all made possible by the diverse community lives and works there.

I enjoyed illustrating the many facets of this design. I went bright with color and made sure to showcase the diverse population that calls Toledo home. I tied everything together through the use of the massive suspension bridge that was a feat of engineering and is literally the gateway into Toledo from the east.
